HUGE CHEQUE FROM A SMALL COMMUNITY IN AUCHNAGATT
WHAT A FANTASTIC DAY! Thanks to Team Cunningham (again) and Auchnagatt School!! I did a presentation at the school after a team effort of mammoth proportions between the children at the school, Norman Cunningham, Ryan Gordon and px Ltd. In the last year they have raised over £6500 for their IYH link school in Nepal, AMAZING!
The best bit of the day is knowing that not only the children but the teachers and Headmistress Mrs Thomson are going to be part of a long term partnership with their link school which is the same age group and size as them in a rural community of Nepal which was badly effected after the earthquake in 2015. The name of the school is Sidhartha.
They are going to share stories, video messages and information about what games they play, religion, festivals, music and so much more. They can have pen pals with children in a very different world, It was funny explaining to under 10's what a pen pal was as we forget nobody writes letters with pen and paper any more :).
Thanks to a young girl who is 8 years of age, Amber Cunningham, we seem to have a whole community who will to commit to some long term exchanges with new friends in Nepal. She was awarded our first IYH Junior Ambassador Certificate.
It is hard to over state the difference having a link school like this will make. THANKS TEAM ACHNAGATT!!

We followed a school presentation with an evening event to raise even more money which was kindly supported with refreshments by px Ltd and thanks again to Team Cunningham, Angela, Sasha, Norman and Amber for getting it all sorted and making it fun. Whoever donated the banana bread and fudge tablet…..wow!!!!
On a selfish note I even sold some books :)
